Blackberry Grove in New Brighton has just celebrated its second birthday.
One of New Brighton ’s most popular restaurants is to branch out across the river with a second venue opening in Liverpool.
The team at Blackberry Grove took advantage of the venue’s second birthday celebrations to announce the plans for a venue on the other side of the Mersey.
Owner Joanna Jones said at a party which included actor Dean Sullivan and boxer Sean Dodd among the guests: “I’m a born and bred Liverpudlian, I’ve dreamt of my place there for a long time but now we have the perfect team here, we can finally start putting those plans into practice.”
The aim is to open in the city centre although a location has yet to be announced.
Blackberry Grove is popular with diners who suffer food allergies or keep to vegan or vegetarian diets.
The team is also in the running for the UK’s Best Independent Operator award, facing competition from two London venues, with the winner announced on Wednesday (November 1).
